1:01 am	Carmina V Perhaps Catullus' most famous poem or at least his most quoted: A letter of assurance to his Lover importuning her to ignore detractors. Being a poem it should be read in the original Latin to appreciate the 'feel' of it. However it is best in a language that is not a barrier to the sentiment. 3:45 pm	Proof That God Exists: Flawed Proof or Parody? So VikingCoder posted this link to a web site that purports to prove 'logically' that God Exists.  http://www.proofthatgodexists.org/ Now the 'argument' this website presents is a Classically Flawed Argument.  Seriously if you got a generic book on logic you would see that the 'mistakes' made on this web page have been known as 'flawed' thinking for thousands of years. Which leads me to ask the Question:  Is this a Flawed/Mistaken Proof or a Parody? After a while will the website change to showing how it suckered people in with flawed arguments?  "Hey Hey: Look how stupid and gullible you are!" As it is the website shows no sound proof or argument for the existence of God.  FLAWED ARGUMENTS PROVE or DISPROVE NOTHING. 5:28 pm	Movie: Speed Racer: Unwatchable I thought for a fun lark to watch the 2008 movie version of SPEED RACER by the Wachowski brothers I wasn't expecting much, a fun little romp, a flashback to a kid's show that had astoundingly bad animation and reveled in it's own silliness. I liked the idea, the big assumption of silliness, the actors, the willingness to bring a cartoon to live action. My one word review of the movie: UNWATCHABLE. Most of the visuals are so haptic, disruptive, spasmodic and epileptic in nature that the movie is almost exclusively unwatchable.  No amount of writing, dialogue, story construction, acting ability or divine intervention can save this movie. It is a bad first person video race game where you don't even have the controller. I apologize to the cast and crew of this movie and cast no aspersions on them or their careers.   Thought I would never say it, but the Wachowski brothers went too far. (Comment on this)

What does the Business approach tell us?  What is the product?  The product is Health Care How do you Reduce Costs? #1 way is to Reduce Overhead. So what if almost 30% of your expenses go to paying for the Middle Men? Well obviously you CUT OUT the Middle Men.  The For-Profit health Insurance Companies are the Bloated Non-Productive Middle Men of Health Coverage.  Down with the Health Insurance Industry!   We cannot Afford them! 6:43 pm	What to do about George 43rd? While I believe George 43rd needs to be investigated for violating the constitution and war crimes someone pointed out that he had retired to the local area... They asked what would I do if I 'bumped' into him in public? Well of course many ideas went through my head, but the only reasonable one that showed respect for the public, the office and my disrespect and disapproval of the man's action turned out be very simple.  Just stop what I'm doing, turn my back to him and refuse to acknowledge his existence. Perhaps too tame, but in this extremely Pro-Bush area it should be tantamount to throwing shoes.  Around here I expect his normal reception is bowing, weeping and kissing of the ring.  (4 Comments |Comment on this)

10:07 am	"Fair and Balanced" Let us take a moment to look back, reflect and laugh! It has been six years now since U.S. District Judge Chin laughed at Fox News when the they sought to stop Al Franken from releasing his book, " Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right," because it used their trade mark "Fair and Balanced."   Fox News did not understand what a trade mark was or copyright law. To quote Judge Chin,  “Parody is a form of artistic expression protected by the First Amendment. The keystone to parody is imitation, ... Mr. Franken is clearly mocking Fox.”  Fox News: Fair and Balanced... Remember that repetition does not equal the truth.    (Comment on this)

What if you don't have a convenient book, movie or other cover activity? 2:09 am	JOE WILSON HATES AMERICA! Does Representative Joe Wilson have some type of Political Turrets Syndrome where he randomly shouts out things? JOE WILSON LIES! If so then is he liable or politically liable for anything said in these emotive outbursts? JOE WILSON HAS ILLEGITIMATE DAUGHTER!  But it seems such things are distractions from the real work of Government: Governing, NOT Politics! JOE WILSON IS VISCERALLY ANTI-AMERICAN!  Representative Wilson is known for his confrontational style and outbursts are not unexpected. JOE WILSON IS A RACIST! However such outbursts are easily covered by a Heart Felt Apology. JOE WILSON IS A BIGOT!  So let me extend a honest and Heart Felt Apology to Joe Wilson.  I have no idea or even impression that he is a liar, racist, bigot or anything else other then a hard working man who is serving his country.  I apologize for my remarks as they are uncalled for, hurtful in nature and distracting.  I am just scoring cheap points by taking cheap shots at an easy target of the moment;  A gesture unworthy of someone who believes in honest discourse as the way to define and resolve the many issues that challenge our country.  Please Keep Your Hands inside the Cart at All Times.  We Can All Get Through This Together. 8:35 am	Eulogy for A Christmas Carol? The Disney promotional juggernaut is literally traveling around the country as Disney's A Christmas Carol train tours the country promoting the upcoming movie. Directed by Robert Zemeckis this motion capture computer animated 3-D retelling of 'the old chestnut' is going to be a Christmas movie blockbuster for 2009.  However it is my belief, sight unseen that the movie is fatally flawed; It 'stars' Jim Carrey.  Jim Carrey plays four different roles: Ebeneezer Scrooge, Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost of Christmas Present and Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come;  But let us be honest and admit that Jim Carrey plays Jim Carrey.  I for one have seen Jim Carrey play Jim Carrey before and found that amusing.  But if I want to see 'that' performance again I can slip an old VHS of Ace Ventura Pet Detective in the dusty VCR and save ten bucks.   With Disney's money for production values and Zemeckis' steady hand for direction this should an enjoyable movie experience, but I fear it will be through gritted teeth whenever Jim Carrey is on stage.  I hope I am wrong...  See you in the theatres!  Current Mood: optimistic (4 Comments |Comment on this)

6:06 pm	Anti-Death Panels I have been informed by leading lights of the Republican party of what is contained in Barack HUSSEIN Obama's Health Care Reform. Death Panels: To Decide who is worthy of medical care. Forced Sterilization:  of the Physically Handicapped.  Termination: of the Mentally Handicapped Community Standards: that mandate not treating Grandma! The Denial of God's will that the Prosperous Shall Inherit the Earth! While I could not find any of these in the actual proposals, I am sure that these fine upstanding Ladies and Gentlemen of the Republican party are worthy of trust and should be taken on their word; After all what possible motive might they have for lying? Surely these noble and worthy people could not be considered to be rabble rousing luddites who have a not so hidden agenda? Who could possibly doubt their veracity, their honesty, their integrity??? I cannot doubt them.  For surely they are honorable men and women.  I take my stand.  I stand against Death Panels!  We must oppose Health Care Reform even though it doesn't contain them!!! Barack HUSSEIN Obama and his campaign failed to produce a BIRTH CERTIFICATE indicating he was legally born in the United States of America and therefor eligible to be President of the United States. Instead they produced a CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH from the 'State' of Hawaii for Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Barack HUSSEIN Obama CAN NOT be allowed to serve as President of the United States unless he satisfies the following points to prove he is a Natural Born Citizen. A)  The original BIRTH CERTIFICATE must be produced by a Democratically Elected REPUBLICAN Governor of Hawaii who is satisfied with its authenticity.  B) It must be shown in the Congressional Record that Hawaii was Officially a STATE at the date stated on Barack HUSSEIN Obama's BIRTH CERTIFICATE. C)  At least TWO Witnesses to Barack HUSSEIN Obama's birth must testify under oath and must pass a Polygraph administered by a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who was appointed by the only Director you could ever trust J. Edgar Hoover.  D)  Original DNA samples must be obtained from Barack HUSSEIN Obama, Barack HUSSEIN Obama's blood father, mother, paternal grandmother and grandfather, maternal grandmother and grandfather, to establish the paternity of Barack HUSSEIN Obama.  Obtainment, sampling and testing  must be done to the satisfaction of the directing committee of the Moral Majority and Mrs Patty Walsh of 2315 Oaksville Dr, Vermont TX 72084. E)  No other Birth Certificate from any other Country that predates or postdates the BIRTH CERTIFICATE from the STATE of Hawaii must be shown to exist either in actuality or potentiality.
